Robert "Robbie" Lee Phifer, age
57, of Bath, NY, died Friday, August 16, 2013 at the Buffalo VAMC.
He was born February 25, 1956 in Circlesville, Ohio the son of the late John W. and Alberta Smith Phifer.
Mr. Phifer was a 19 year US Army (SSG) Veteran, he was a Certified CNA, Personal Care Attendant, Home Health Aide and Health Care Staffer. His accomplishments include Certification Internship in Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counseling; Associate Degree, Corning Community College; Certificate of Appreciation in recognition of valuable tutoring services provided to the students of Corning Community College; AARP, former Vice President Human Services Society at Corning Community College; volunteer Alcoholics Anonymous World Services.
He was employed by Loyola Recovery Foundation as a Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor.
He is survived by his wife Cindy Phifer of Bath; children, Jennifer (Kion) Shaw and Lisa Burton of Colorado Springs, CO, Leslie (Eric) Long of Mystic, CT, Kirsten (Sam) Kostarellis and Danielle (Christopher) Dallas of Naples, NY; brothers, Joh Phifer of Melissa, TX, Kalvin Phifer and Terry Phifer of Colorado Springs, CO; sisters, Melanie Phifer and Brenda Smith of Colorado Springs, CO, 8 grandsons, 5 granddaughters, 1 great granddaughter and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call on Wednesday August 21, 2013 from 11:00-1:00 pm at Fagan's Funeral Home in Bath.
Funeral services will follow at 1:00 pm at the funeral home.
Graveside services with military honors will follow at the Bath National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Mr. Phifer's name may be made to Loyola Recovery Foundation, 1159 Pittsford-Victor Road, Pittsford, NY 14534.
