Obituary

Angie Ordway Wagner passed away peacefully on July 26, 2026, at the Steuben Center in Bath.

Angie was born on December 26, 1957. She was a devoted wife, a dedicated employee, and a woman whose kindness and quiet strength touched everyone who knew her.

For more than 40 years, Angie worked as a housekeeper at the Bath National Hotel. She took great pride in her work and was known for her strong work ethic and unwavering dedication. The hotel's owners, John and Martha Bryson, held a special place in Angie's heart. They treated her like family, and she loved them dearly.

Angie was the beloved wife of the late Edward "Ed" Wagner, Sr, with whom she shared 25 wonderful years of marriage. Through their marriage, she lovingly welcomed Ed's children, Edward Jr. (Regina) and Sally Simpson, into her life as her stepchildren. She also cherished Ed's four granddaughters, Victoria, Allison, Emily, and Amanda, and great-grandchildren, Haylee, Grayson, Cohen, Oakley, and Lennon.

Her greatest joy was her nephew, Douglas DeForest, whom she loved beyond measure. Their bond was truly special, and the happiness he brought to her life was immeasurable.

Angie will be remembered as a hardworking woman who never complained, no matter what challenges came her way. She had a gentle spirit, a kind heart, and a sweet smile that made others feel at ease. She loved spending time watching television and staying up to date on news. Whether it was the latest headline or an interesting story she had heard, Angie looked forward to sharing it, especially during her daily phone calls with her brother-in-law, Roy DeForest.

Angie is survived by her stepchildren, Edward Jr. (Regina) Wagner and Sally Simpson; her beloved nephew, Douglas DeForest; and her brother-in-law, Roy DeForest.

She was predeceased by her husband, Edward Wagner; her parents, Fred Ordway and Deleu Cornish; and her sister, Gloria DeForest and brother Lon Ordway.

Though Angie lived a quiet and humble life, she took pride in an honest day's work and asked for little in return. Her gentle spirit, unwavering kindness, and selfless love will remain in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always. A private graveside service for family and close friends will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Hammondsport.
