Bernadina L. Mills, 100, of Bath, NY passed away on August 6, 2018 at the Ira Davenport Skilled Nursing Facility, Bath, NY.
Bernadina was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Raymond and Bernadina (Hufnagle) Lemley on September 3, 1917. Bernie was very active in the Upper Moreland Republican Party for 38 years; serving as Secretary of Area 11 and as an Executive Board Member. The State Senate and the House of Representatives of Pennsylvania honored Bernie as Republican Woman of the Year in 1999. Additionally she was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church and the Lioness Club of Willow Grove.
Bernie is survived by a son, Donald G. (Anna Mae) Mills Jr., Bath, NY, grandchildren; Donald F. (Lorraine) Mills, Oswego, NY and Cheryl Mills, Bath, NY and great-grandchildren, Olivia Travis and Lukas Mills-Travis; nieces, Elmie Stewart and Bernadina (Thomas) Dougherty and nephew, George (Margaret) Konopka. She was predeceased by her husband Donald G. Mills Sr. Bernie was also predeceased by her sister, Mildred Konopka and her brother, George Lemley.
Calling hours will be held Friday, August 10th from 3:00 - 6:00 pm at Fagan's Funeral Home, 31 W. Morris St., Bath, NY. A funeral service with Rev. Stanley Bhasker is immediately following at the funeral home. There will be additional calling hours on Monday, August 13th from 10:00 am - Noon with a Prayer Service to follow at the John J. Bryers Funeral Home, 406 N. Easton Rd., Willow Grove, PA 19090. Burial will be in Northwood Cemetery, Philadelphia, PA.
