Bruce R. Grant

On October 12, 2012, Bruce R. Grant II, age 63, died from complications of COPD and lung cancer.
Bruce was born in Corning, New York on November 3, 1948 to Bruce R. Grant and Jeanne (Smock) Grant. He was a graduate of Corning East High School and Corning Community College. He was an active US Marine during the Vietnam War and a retired US Army Reserve Drill Sergeant. He was a retiree of Dresser Rand and Steuben County Court Security.
Bruce was involved in many community and civic organizations, was an Elder of the First Presbyterian Church of Bath, New York and served in many capacities in the church and was a member of the bell choir. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, golfing, and the beautiful sunsets at Keuka Lake. He also enjoyed the many card games with close friends, Jack and Marilyn Baldrige.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Darolene (Hayes) Grant; his mother, Jeanne Grant; his daughters Margaret (Michael) Bieger of Monroe, New York and their children, Jason and Mackenzie; and Katrina (Andrew) Georgiana of Lenexa, Kansas and their children, Bruce, Katlynne, and Joanne. He is also survived by his sister, Cheryl (Bill) Kenney of Klamath Falls, Oregon and their children, Joel and Zane.
He was predeceased by his father, Bruce R. Grant and sister, Karlene Grant.
Calling hours will be held at Fagan's Funeral Home, 35 West Morris Street on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 from 5 P.M. until 7 P.M. A celebration of life service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church 6 E. Morris Street, Bath, New York on Sunday, October 21, 2012 at 2 P.M. in the fellowship hall.
Bruce will be buried with military honors at the Bath National Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Bruce's name may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, Finger Lakes SPCA, or the Bath Volunteer Ambulance Service.
