Carolyn L. Matthews

Carolyn L. Matthews, age 71, of Wildflowers Hills, Bath, NY, died Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at home.
She was born in Bath, NY September 27, 1940 the daughter of William and Virginia Schoeffler Sprague.
She was an Air Force Veteran and retired Director of Finance from Visiting Homemaker and Health Services of Mt. Holly, NJ.
Mrs. Matthews was
a member of the Mitchellesville Methodist Church.
She and her husband celebrated 52 years of marriage on November 19, 2011.
She is survived by her husband, Ronald
G. Matthews of Bath; two daughters, Carmon (Donald) Withers of Wrightstown, NJ and Ronda (Jeffrey) Withers of Bath, NY; two sons, Eric T.(Tammy) Matthews of Fort Walton,
FL and
Alex W. Matthews of Lawrenceville,
NJ; eight grandchildren, Valerie, Ronald and Landon Withers, Samantha (Andrew) Lynch, Kristen Withers, John Matthews, William Matthews and Ashley Bacani; two great grandchildren, William Alexeev and Jayden Bacani, her mother Virginia Sprague of Bath;
two sisters, Lyna Jean Hall of Groton, NY and Roxanne Sprague and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her father William Sprague.
Friends may call on Sunday July 22nd
from 1:00-2:00 pm at Fagan's Funeral
Home, 31 West Morris St., Bath, NY.
Funeral services will follow on Sunday at 2:00 pm at the funeral home with Reverend Jerry Holcombe and Barry Butts officiating.
Burial will be in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Guthrie Cancer Center in Corning, 114 Columbia Street, Corning, NY 14830 and Southern Tier Hospice and Palliative Care, 11751 East Corning Road, Corning, NY 14830.
