We are saddened to share the passing of David P. Simpson, a loving father, grandfather, and friend to many. David was born on March 4, 1956, in Savona, New York, to Bernard P. Simpson and Jean Simpson Snyder. He passed away on August 1, 2025, in Corning, New York.
David grew up on his family farm, where he learned the value of hard work and developed a strong love for the outdoors. After graduating from Savona High School, he moved to Idaho to live with his Uncle Lyle and start a farming business. He later returned to Savona to raise a family.
David inherited his love for woodworking from his father and eventually started his own wood-cutting business. He loved spending time outdoors and enjoyed hunting, especially when shared with family.
He was known for his great sense of humor and storytelling. David was a simple man who found joy in family, laughter, and nature.
David was the proud father of Becky, Lisa, and Chad Simpson, and a loving grandfather to Corbin, Maddy, and Deacon. He passed on his values of hard work, love for family, and the importance of laughter to his children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard Simpson and Jean Snyder. He is survived by his children: Becky (James) Simpson, Lisa Simpson, and Chad (Lindsay) Simpson; the mother of his children, Judy French Simpson; his sister, Linda (Sal) Davola; his brother, Lynn Simpson; and his grandchildren, along with many other loving family members.
A celebration of David’s life will be held at a later date. Details will be shared with friends and family once arrangements are made.
David will be deeply missed, but the memories and love he gave will stay with us forever.
