Deborah Eileen Hough, affectionately known as Debbie to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2024, at the age of 71 in Bath, NY. Born on July 8, 1953, in Corning, NY, Debbie was a beacon of joy and kindness to all who knew her.
Debbie's early years were spent in the nurturing care of her mother, Lois, and alongside her brother, Mike. Her warm and loving nature was evident from a young age and continued to be a defining characteristic throughout her life. Debbie's family grew to include her cherished niece, Desiree and her husband Matt and their family, and her special friend, Wendy, along with many friends and relations whose lives she touched deeply. Her Dad Fremond passed in June 1978.
An alumna of Newark State School, Debbie's passion for learning shone brightly.
Debbie's caring spirit extended to her volunteer work, where she devoted countless hours to the Finger Lakes SPCA, ARC, and Taylor Health Center. She was a member of the Bethel Assembly of God Church in Bath. Her efforts in these organizations were driven by her love for animals and her desire to contribute to the well-being of her community.
Described by those who knew her as loving, funny, and friendly, Debbie's presence was a source of comfort and laughter. Her sense of humor and her ability to connect with people made her cherished. Debbie's legacy is one of boundless love and an unwavering commitment to making the world a better place for everyone she met.
Debbie's impact on the lives of those around her cannot be overstated. Her gospel songs she sang, The Old Rugged Cross and InThe Garden, and genuine care for others made her a beloved figure in her community. Her absence will be profoundly felt, but the memories of her kindness, her laughter, and her love will remain a guiding force for all who had the privilege of knowing her.
As we bid farewell to Deborah E. Hough, we celebrate the remarkable life she led and the countless hearts she warmed. Debbie will be buried with her Dad, in Bath National Cemetery. Rest in Peace, you will be missed.
