Doris A. Fisher

April 13, 1938 — November 27, 2022

Doris Amelia Fisher, formerly of Bath, NY passed peacefully to heaven on Sunday, November 27, 2022. Doris was born in Bath, NY on April 13, 1938 to Claude B. Shaut and Wilma H. (Towner) Shaut. She is the twin sister of Dorothy Shaut, who predeceased her in November 2008. Doris is a graduate of Savona Central School. She was previously employed by E.L. Humphrey Insurance company before working and retiring from North American Phillips (formerly Westinghouse) with the Light Assembly Team. Doris enjoyed nature and loved animals. Her special beloved four-legged companions included Rocky, Bozo, Paco, Buster, Tuffy, Sparky, Frenzy, and Hermann. She had great faith in the Lord, loved to read the Bible, and was an active member of the Bethel Assembly of God Church for many years. She enjoyed music and participating in local Song Fests. Music was special to her and brought her great joy. She and her sister Dorothy enjoyed dinners out, visiting family and friends, and rides in the countryside. She is survived by sister, Ila (Carl) Ross of Canisteo; sister-in-law Hazel (Lloyd) Shaut of Addison; step- son, Jim (Debbie) Fisher of New Oxford, PA; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was pre- deceased by her husband, John A. Fisher II (2008); twin sister, Dorothy Shaut (2008), her brother, Lloyd Shaut (2006), step-son, John A. Fisher III (2017), brother-in-law Carl Ross, and parents Claude B. (1973) and Wilma H. Shaut (1991). Funeral services will be held at Fagans Funeral Home on Thursday, December 1, 2022. Callers will be welcomed by family and friends from 11:00 a.m. 1:00 p.m. with service officiated by Pastor Craig Buckley beginning at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow immediately after the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Nondaga Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in Doriss memory may be made to: The Finger Lakes Humane Society, 72 Cameron Street, Bath, NY 14810 or to: CareFirst, 3805 Meads Creek Road, Painted Post, NY 14870. The family of Doris Fisher would like to thank all the caregivers who helped Doris live an active fun-filled life after her move from her home in Bath, NY to her apartments in Painted Post. You brought her great joy and shared your hearts with her. We will always remember your care and love for Doris.
