Doris Jane Horton, age 88, of Campbell, NY died Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at the Steuben Center for Rehabilitation and Health Care of Bath, NY.
She was born November 27, 1928 in Corning, NY the daughter of the late Theodore and Alice (Whitmore) Brennan. She had worked in Food Service at the Ira Davenport Memorial Hospital and was a homemaker for most of her life.
Bowling, playing cards and fishing were just a few of the activities she enjoyed doing with her children.
Mrs. Horton was a caregiver to many, even until her final days at the Steuben Center.
She loved playing bingo and doing puzzles, and was known as the "queen of puzzles" at the Center.
Her family would like to thank the caregivers at the Steuben Center for the wonderful care given to their mother.
She is survived by her children, Donald (Tammy) Horton Jr., Donna (Bill) Park, Carol Cannon, Larry (Janice) Horton, Timothy (Linda) Horton, Betty (Terry) VanDerhoff, Linda (Tim) Vallimont, Brian (Linda) Horton and Kimberly (Raymond) Bailey, her sister, Dortha (Ed) Shay, brother, Theodore (Eleanor) Brennan and sister-in-law, Barb Horton, many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Donald Horton Sr., infant son Howard Horton and granddaughter, Nicole Park.
Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday, January 29th from 12:00 - 3:00 pm at Fagan's Funeral Home in Bath, NY, with a funeral service to follow at 3:00 pm with Pastor Theodore Brennan officiating.
Burial will be in Coopers Plains Cemetery in the spring.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations in her name may be made to the Steuben Center Activities Fund, 7009 Rumsey Street Ext. Bath, NY 14810.
