Estelle Mary Tompkins of 105 Geneva Street, Bath, NY passed away on Thursday August 22, 2013 at the Steuben County Health Care Facility.
She was born on March 27, 1923 in Coalport, PA to Maryanna Zera Kashorek and Joseph Kashorek.
A lifelong resident of Bath, she was a 1941 graduate of Haverling High School.
During World War II she worked on the assembly line at Mercury Aircraft in Hammondsport, NY building short beams for P40 fighter planes.
After that she worked as secretary to Clyde Platt, Deputy Commissioner of Public Welfare, which is now social services.
She married Cecil Tompkins on May 8, 1946.
He died on January 18, 1988.
Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by sisters, Bertha Williamson, Virginia Percival and Helen Kashorek all of Bath, and by brothers Joseph, Walter and William Kashorek all of Bath, also many years ago, by her sister, Sophia, brother Stanley, and by twin brothers Frank and Adam.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces, great great nephews and several cousins.
Friends may call on Monday, August 26, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Fagan's Funeral Home in Bath.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 27th at 2:00 pm at the funeral home with Father Lewis Brown officiating.
Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Bath, NY.
