Freida Wheeler

Freida S. Wheeler entered into rest on January 8, 2026.

She was born in Bath, NY on April 19, 1955.

She is preceded in death by her parents Ernest Stever and Antionette (Minichello) Stever and many Minichello/Fiordo Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Wheeler and children Jack (Jeannie) Wheeler and Nicole (Ron) Zugelder, Cousin-Christine Minichello and Grandchildren Cooper, Rogan, and Reagan Zugelder and Gavin, Anne and Nicholas Wheeler.

She spent a career of service at the Bath VA Medical Center as a Registered Nurse, Director of the Domiciliary Care Center, and Quality Control Manger, where she helped countless veterans and their families. Her most cherished role was being a mother and grammy to her children and grandchildren. She was the greatest cheerleader and role model that her family could ask for. Her life exemplified selflessness and caring for others and she will be deeply missed by all.

Calling hours will be at Fagans Funeral Home, Bath, New York on Sunday January 11, 2026 from 2:00-4:00 P.M and 6:00-8:00 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Mary’s Church in Bath, NY on Monday January 12 at 9:30 A.M. followed by a graveside service and burial in Bath National Cemetery at 11:00 A.M.
