Gary Grimshaw

Gary Ward Grimshaw, age 68, of Bath, NY died Friday, January 20, 2012.
He was born May 5, 1943 in Buffalo, NY the son of Ward and Dorothy Jones Grimshaw.
Gary was a 1961 graduate of Gouverneur High School and lettered in Wrestling all four years. He graduated from Paul Smith College in 1963.
He was an Eagle Scout and an avid hunter and outdoorsman.
He was an US Navy Seabees Veteran having served two tours in Vietnam from 1966-1968.
Gary retired from N.Y.S.D.E.C. as a land surveyor. Gary was a member of the Charles E. Wescott American Legion Post 173 and a life member of the V.F.W. Post 1470.
He was a loving husband, father and a great friend.
He is survived by his wife Nancy Stratton of Bath, NY; two sons, Mark (Sherri) Grimshaw of Davidson, NC and Paul (Catherine) Grimshaw of Mt. Holly, NC, grandson Garrett P. Grimshaw, his sister Judy (Frank) Correnty of Beacon Falls, CT, niece Karen Rourke of Norwalk, CT, nephew Scott Rourke Evergreen, CO. and cousins, Marjorie Jones Babcock of Bernhards Bay, NY and Patricia (Merritt) Young of Hammond, NY.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday May 5, 2012 at 11:00 am at Fagan's Funeral Home in Bath, NY and a service will be held on May 12th at Noon at the VFW in Gouverneur, NY.
Memorial donations in Gary's name may be made to the Southern Tier Hospice and Palliative Care, 11751 East Corning Road, Corning, NY 14830 and the Finger Lakes S.P.C.A., 7315 Rte 54, Bath, N Y 14810 or donate blood in Gary's memory.
