George James Jackson Jr., passed away on May 14, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Utica, NY, on October 29, 1963, the son of George J. Sr. and Margaret (Diebo) Jackson. George's journey through life was one marked by kindness, dedication, and an unwavering spirit of service. He was a beloved husband, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew him.
George's early years in Utica laid the foundation for a life characterized by hard work and a passion for helping others. His career path led him to work at Mercury Aircraft in Hammondsport, NY, and later at KraftHeinz in Avon, NY. However, his true calling was as a contractor, where his handy skills and kind nature were put to good use, improving the lives of many. George's legacy as a member of the Mohawk American Indian community was one of pride and a deep connection to his heritage.
Throughout his life, George was driven by a love for people and nature. His beliefs were deeply rooted in his religion, which guided him in his role as a caregiver to his beloved wife, Jean Morse-Jackson, and his brother-in-law Clifford Morse. George's presence was a source of comfort and strength to his family, including his sister Brenda, brother Joseph Jackson, nephew Josh Jackson, his granddaughter Olivia and her husband Dr. Adrian Poniatowski, sister-in-law, Sue Abbott and his close friend Ryan. George's interests were a reflection of his generous spirit. He derived great joy from being in the company of others, whether he was assisting a neighbor in need or sharing stories and laughter with friends and family. His love for the natural world was evident in the way he lived his life, with a deep respect for all living things and the environment.

Family and friends are invited to Fagan's Funeral Home in Bath on Monday, May 19, 2025 for visitation from 12:00-1:00 pm followed by a funeral service at 1 and a graveside service and burial in Mitchellsville Cemetery.
