Hollis "Hollie " Fenton 78, of Bath NY, passed away Tuesday, December 28 at Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY . Hollis was born August 20, 1943 in Williamsport PA to parents Clifford and
Laura (Strivings) Fenton.
Hollis was raised in Bath, NY by his
paternal grandmother Jessie Fenton after his parents were killed in a car accident. Hollis attended school in the Haverling School District. He later enlisted in the United State Marine Corp and served in Vietnam, where he earned a purple heart. He went on to work as a Line Mechanic at Taylor Winery in Hammondsport NY
for many years until it closed and then retired as a Machine Attendant in the Halogen Dept. from Philips Lighting in Bath. Later in life Hollis joined the Bath Fire Department's Fire Police division. Hollis enjoyed the great outdoors his entire life.
Whether it
was hunting rattlesnakes, hang gliding, fishing & hunting, flying
ultralight planes, or riding motorcycles & mopeds, Hollis packed a lot of living into his 78 years!
Hollis took great pride in his Military service and the service of his nephew and great nephews who also served!
Hollis
married the love of his life Connie (Williams) Fenton on September 18, 1971 and they had one Child Brandi Lynn. Hollis and Connie were married over 25 years until Connie's passing in 1997.
Hollis Was predeceased by his parent Clifford and Laura, His wife Connie and his stepson Danny Smith. Hollis is survived by his
daughter Brandi (Matthew) Williams, sister Connie (Donald) Ribble,
second wife Deb (Cook) Fenton, step son Robert (Connie) Dunning, daughter in law Cheryl Smith (Dan). Grandchildren Sophie, Natalie and Emma Williams, Brianna and
Cianna Dunning, and Michael & Matthew Smith. nephew Steve (Amy)Ribble, niece Deborah (Mark) Bennett. Also four step great grandchildren and many great nephews and nieces.
At Hollie's request there will be no services. At the family's request please feel free to
share a donation in his remembrance to the Bath Fire Dept. or the Veterans organization of your choice.
