James F. Poust Jr.

James F. Poust Jr. age 72 of Savona NY passed away peacefully at his residence surrounded by his family. Born February 3, 1951, in Allentown, PA, the son of James F. Sr. and Emily Jean (Wilson) Poust. Jim graduated in 1969 from Northwestern Lehigh School in New Tripoli, PA. Jim had many different jobs over the years and lived in several states, and in 1979 found his dream home, an old farmhouse, and the remodeling began. Jims last job was with the Steuben County Highway department as a heavy equipment mechanic where he retired after 10 years.
Jim was an avid hunter and fisherman, making several trips out west to hunt pheasants and waterfowl. He enjoyed being outside riding his Harley and taking care of his property with his many tractors. He was happiest on his John Deere. He also enjoyed metal detecting and found many coins and treasures. Jim was also a jack of all trades and could fix or build anything. You could find him in his garage fixing someones vehicle or tractor. Jim was very active in the Bath Rod and Gun Club where he was the Past President and Vice President and he also participated with the competition pistol shooting team. You could also find him on the skeet field most Sunday mornings and he also volunteered to cook breakfast, with waffles as his specialty and at the annual Corned Beef and Cabbage dinner. He was also a member of the NRA and SCOPE.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Edward Poust. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Carol (Peters) Poust. Sons, Jeffrey Poust, and Jason (Kelly) Poust. Grandsons, Michael, Tucker, Trenton, Tyler, and Cody. Brothers, Charles (Sandra) Poust and Jay Poust. Sisters, Frances Goldschmidt, and Pamela (Alison) Poust and several nieces and nephews.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Jim at the Bath Rod & Gun Club on May 11th, from 12pm to 5pm.
