John David Hughes

John David Hughes was born on April 9, 1948 in Rochester, NY and passed away on April 14, 2025, in Prattsburgh, NY. He was the proud father of two sons, Rob and Eric. John owned 'Our People’s Coffee House' in Brockport, NY, and 'The Wine Press' in Rochester, NY. He attended college at Geneseo and studied percussion at the Eastman School of Music. John worked as a painter for the University of Rochester Strong Staffing for 20 years and spent his retirement at his beloved cabin in Prattsburgh. He had a passion for gardening and was an avid hunter. John was known for his big heart and genuine nature. He is survived by his sons, Rob and Eric, his brother Charles, his sister Carol, and many nieces and nephews.
