John Harold 'Jack' Stone

John (Jack)
Harold Stone, 79 of 4711 Tannery Rd. in Campbell, NY passed away Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at the Syracuse VA.
Born October 26, 1934 in Oswego, the son of Elmer and Dorothy Stone.
Jack graduated from Mexico Academy and Central School in 1953.
He then enlisted in the Army and served as a paratrooper until 1958.
He was employed at Miller's Sawmill for several years as a logger.
He retired at Wine Creek Apartments in Oswego working in the Maintenance Department.
He loved spending time outside working in his garden and laying in the sun.
Jack was a fan of the Syracuse Basketball team.
He also looked forward to watching the baseball and softball World Series every year.
Back in the day Jack coached men's slow pitch softball.
He also spent many years sitting on the sidelines or courtside supporting his grandchildren.
He is survived by his children Rodney, Todd (Penny), Jeffrey (Carlene), Scott (Diane), David (Denise), Patrick (Stephanie) and his dog Schrader.
Also several siblings Wayne (Frances), Barbara (Donald) Meyers,
David (Gina), Donna (Lawrence) Woolson, Ellen (Jerry) Nurse, Meredith and several nieces and nephews.
Jack also had 17 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren
He was predeceased by his Father and Mother, his son Jay and also his granddaughter, Tina Babbitt.
The man that always sported a toothpick and had a unique sense of humor will be missed by many.
Arrangements are being made by Fagan's Funeral Home in Bath.
A grave site service will be held on Friday, October 10th at 1:00 pm at the Bath VA Cemetery.
Dinner will be provided after the service at the Kanona Fire Department.
