Joyce Jamieson Benton

Joyce Jamieson Benton, age 58, of Bath, NY died Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at the Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester, NY.
She was born in Bridgeton, NJ January 13, 1955, the daughter of Kenneth and Mary Gilbert Hall.
Joyce was an U.S. Army veteran with eight years active duty and 31 years with the Department of the Army where she worked as the head of the food service department in Fort Dix, NJ for 21 years and also worked in Washington, DC, Rhine Maine and Frankfurt, Germany.
She lived each day like there was no tomorrow.
Joyce could light up a room with her smile and laughter because she was able to live life to the fullest over the past two years.
She enjoyed camping, hiking, fishing and traveling.
She helped her husband James to be the better person he is today.
Joyce enjoyed going to church and reading her spiritual books, and she was prepared to enter the doors of heaven.
Joyce will always be loved and never be forgotten.
She is survived by her husband, James D. Benton of Bath, NY, son Richard Jamieson Jr. of Tacoma, WA, stepdaughter, Jacqueline Benton of Albany, NY, stepson, Zachary Benton of Caroga Lake, NY; sister, Judy Hoolahan and foster sister Samantha Bully;
brothers, Roger Hall, Kenneth Hall, Victor Hall and foster brothers Oliver Wood and Justin Wood and many nieces, nephews, friends and
co-workers.
A memorial service will be held on Friday November 8, 2013 at 2:00 pm at the Bath VA Chapel with Pastor Terry Sutfin officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Bath National Cemetery at 3:00 pm.
