Judith M. White

Judith Ann Murphy White age 73, of Bath, NY died Tuesday, March 8, 2017 at home. Judi was born on April
15, 1943 in Corning to Gerald and Mary (Panyard) Murphy. Judi was a graduate of Savona High School and SUNY College at Cortland. She married Dale White in Corning on June 27, 1964. She
was a fourth and fifth grade teacher in Haverling Central School District for 35 years. Judi served for many years as a trustee of the Henry Dormann Library in Bath where she distinguished herself by continuing the legacy of Jim and Marion Hope by assuming responsibility for the Book Barn. Her hard work and dedication there earned her the name "The Book Barn Lady" and a Steuben County RSVP Volunteer of the Year award. She is survived by her daughter Molly Banks of Gaithersburg, MD, son and daughter in law Jeffrey and Lauren White, grandchildren Kyra and Devin Banks, two brothers, Paul (Diane Kelley) Murphy of Corning and Timothy (Monica) Murphy of Corning, niece Sylvia Kelly of Gang Mills and several other nieces, nephews and cousins. Judi was predeceased by her parents, her husband and by her brothers, Dennis Murphy, Gerald Murphy, Jr, and sister, Sallie Dowd. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, March 14 from 1-3pm and 6-7:30pm at Fagan's Funeral Home, Bath, NY with a memorial service to follow at 7:30pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Finger Lakes SPCA, CareFirst, 11751 East Corning Rd, Corning, NY 14830, or to the Henry Dormann Library.
