Kathryn Murray "Kay" Parke
Kathryn Murray "Kay" Parke, of the Fred and Harriett Taylor Health Center, Bath, NY died peacefully at the Ira Davenport Memorial Hospital with her family by her side on April 15th, 2015.
She previously resided on West Washington Street in Bath for 32 years and lived in Cazenovia, NY for 15 years.
She was born Nov 27, 1936 to Edward and Kathryn Murray in Binghamton NY.
She grew up on the West Side of Binghamton on Kneeland Avenue.
She attended Binghamton Central High School, where she graduated in 1955, and then Katherine Gibbs College in Boston MA.
She married Edwin "Ted" Parke on July 13, 1959; they enjoyed their honeymoon in Cape May, NJ and they continued to vacation there annually with their children and grandchildren.
Kay held numerous administrative and Executive Assistant positions throughout her career, most notably at Cazenovia College, Taylor and Great Western Wine Company, and Corning Incorporated. She was a member of the Bath Professional Woman, the Bath Country Club, and the Keuka Yacht Club.
During retirement she volunteered at the Ira Davenport Memorial Hospital.
Kay's father was a professional golfer, and she inherited his passion for the game.
She participated for many years in the Wednesday Night Women's League at the Bath Country Club, and loved to golf with her children and grandchildren.
Kay was also an avid collector of antiques and dolls, and spent many hours in the summer on Keuka Lake with her grandchildren.
She was pre-deceased by both of her parents, her sister Joan Murray, and her husband Ted Parke.
Surviving Kay are her children: Daniel Parke, Timothy (Sherry) Parke, Kathryn (Larry) Nivison; Grandchildren: Lindsay Campbell, Tyler, Trevor, Andrew, Corey, and Grace Parke, Robert Mahoney, and two great-grandchildren; Sister-in-law Sandra Parke Kisloski, and several nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, April 19, 2015 from 2PM to 4PM, at Fagan's Funeral Home, Bath, NY.
The Funeral Service will be at 4PM at the conclusion of calling hours.
Deacon Robert Colomaio officiating.
Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Hammondsport, NY. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made in Kay's name to the Fred and Harriett Taylor Nursing Home, 7571 State Route 54, Bath, NY, 14810.
