Kristina Nielsen

d. June 16, 2025

Fly high, baby girl, you have earned your wings,
Let them gently unfold, and you will hear the angels sing,
The demons that challenged you have been chased away,
And every soul that you ever knew,
Will be waiting at Heaven's gate to guide you through.
Missed will be your loving smile,
(Maybe not so much that temper you could release I :)
But your hidden notes may still be found once in a while,
And reading "I love you, mommy...ALWAYS" might bring me peace.

N. Peter and Marjean (Lodge) Nielsen were given the blessing of a 4lb. 4oz. baby girl for Valentine's Day on February 14, 1979. Kristina Elain Nielsen was taken from us by a cerebral aneurysm on the morning of Monday, June 16, 2025, at the too young age of 46. Kristi is survived by her oldest son, Blake Ratliff, who is living a troubled life on the streets of Bath, NY. Her youngest son, Eian Ratliff, is a soldier in the Army National Guard currently deployed at Quantanamo Bay, Cuba. They both loved their little mom very, very much. Her devoted father, supportive stepmom, Bobbi Buss, and loving mother tried to keep Kristi sheltered and loved through the storms swirling through her life. Her baby brother, Peter Linwood Nielsen of Bath was unconditionally loved by his only sister. It was a sadness that she was never able to meet her nephews, Gaius and Caspian, given to us by Petey's beloved, Colleen Stevens.

Deceased from Kristi's life were her paternal grandparents Polly and Elmer "TUG" Nielsen. Tug taught Kristi how to play euchre and made her cotton candy in his "tugboat". Her maternal grandparents were George and Elaine Conley. Her grandma's patience was not to be inherited by our Kristi! Also deceased were her Aunt Bonnie Nielsen, and her uncles Martin Lodge, Bill Conley, Brian Conley and her Aunt Mary (Coon) Conley.

Kristi is survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins who loved her and tried to support and protect her during her roller coaster ride on this Earth. To describe all the relatives Kristi has left behind her would require the writing of a best-selling novel. Therefore, here is a list of her incredible family who are saddened by her sudden death:
Aunt Barrie Conley and Cousin Mark Frederick, Naples, FL.;
Uncle Dean and Aunt Janice Conley, Daytona Beach, FL with Cousins Eric and Nicole Conley and sweet Second Cousin Emily of Sydney, NY and also Cousins Deana (Conley) and Gene Arin with lively Second Cousins Remington and Easton, St. Augustine, FL.
Cousins Kyle Conley, Denver, CO; Bryant Conley, Bath, NY; Michael Conley, Buffalo, NY
Uncle Michael Lodge Mezzanote, Rawleigh, NC
Aunt Patricia (Conley) Walling, Marion, GA with Cousins Tom and Christie Walling with Second Cousins Tom and Jack, Jacksonville, FL, and also Cousins Erica (Walling) and Marty Buzecrus with Second Cousin Hunter of Jacksonville, FL.
Aunt Mary (Cobb) Conley, Bath, NY with Cousins Shea and Linda Conley and family, Lexington, KY and also Cousin Tara (Conley) with a precious Second Cousin, Lexington, KY.
Cousin Tony and Wendy Liquori, Williamsport, PA
All her cousins and second cousins of her Uncle Marty's family with Greg Lodge in Arizona, and Marty III and his family in Washington.

Numerous other aunts, uncles and cousins loved and will miss our Kristi:
Uncle Bert Cobb, Aunt Joyce, Quid, Dave and lifetime connection with Cuz Craig.
CUZ Jeremy (Lori) Stark and CUZ Chastity (Chas.) Stark and Theresa Stark
Babysitter, "big sister" and friend Stephanie (Wilcox) Witt
"Uncle Roger" and "Aunt Kim" (Zydanowicz) Pruden with CUZ Brianna....We know for sure that Jesse is waiting with open arms to hug his lifelong little friend.
CUZ Mike and CUZ Tim Zydanowicz
"Uncle" Doug Decker and CUZ Colin Decker

Kristi Nielsen filled her life with friends, compassion for others, and was caring, affectionate, kind soul who was always trying to help others even though she may not have always been able to help herself. She will be remembered with much love, and greatly missed by all who knew the feisty, little spirit that lived within her.

Family and friends are invited to join us for Kristi's Celebration of Life on Thursday, June 26th from 6-8 pm at the Wooden Nickel located at 18 Liberty St. in Bath, NY. Flowers may be sent to the Wooden Nickel. Kristi loved them. Donations may be given to the family to help with cremation and burial expenses. Please join us as we share our memories and tears.

Dance on, baby girl,
Let your spirit finally fly free,
Watch over your friends and your family,
Be happy and at peace as you were always meant to be.
