LeRoy "Jim" F. Wager, age, 76, of Bath, NY, died Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at the Taylor Health Center of Bath, NY.
He was born October 23, 1938 in Bath, NY the son of George and Alberta (Bills) Wager.
Jim was an Air Force veteran.
He retired from the Bath Electric, Gas & Water Services after 27 years.
Jim will be remembered as an active leader with the Bath Cinderella League and Bath Volunteer Ambulance Corps. He was the owner of Uncle Jim's Taffy and Concessions Stand for many years and co-owner of J & M Greenacres Mobile Home Court in Bath, and he started the J & T Taxi Service in Bath.
Jim was the Town Supervisor of Bath and a member of the Bath B.P.O.E. 1547, Charles E. Wescott American Legion Post 173 and the V.F.W. 1470 in Bath, also the AMVETS and the Moose Club in Florida.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Mary Ann (Casten) Wager of Bath; three daughters, Deborah (Joseph) Spitz of Fairfax, VA, Lori (Richard) Magnuson of Midlothian, VA and Jackie (William) Binzen of Lancaster, PA;
six grandchildren and one great grandchild and his sister, Jennie Mae Wager of MN.
He was predeceased by his parents and his sister Marlene Berry.
Calling hours will be held on Friday October 2, 2015 from 1:00-3:00 at Fagan's Funeral
Home, in Bath, NY.
Graveside services will be private for the family at Nondaga Cemetery.
A celebration of Jim's life will be held at the Bath V.F.W. at 4:00 pm on Friday.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Care First, 11751 East Corning Road, Corning, NY 14830 and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital-Memorial, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
