Lottie Race of Bradford, New York died August 6, 2013 at age 93.
She was predeceased by her husband Howard, "Pete", Race, parents Frank and Janet Sleve, and brother Joseph Sleve.
Lottie is survived by daughters, Karen (Lawrence) Bixby and Sandy (Andy) Swinburne; grandchildren, Mathew, Ian, Nora and Alec Swinburne, and dear friend Myra Campbell.
Lottie grew up on her family's farm outside of Bradford and held happy memories of those years throughout her life.
She and Pete bought a house in the village where they raised their daughters, directed Race Roofing and Siding Company, and enjoyed the close sense of community that existed back then.
Lottie was an active member of St. Stanislaus Church which her parents and many of
their Polish immigrant neighbors helped organize and sustain.
Lottie was grateful for all the kindness and care from the second floor staff at St. Ann's Transitional Care Center in Rochester, New York.
Her family wishes to thank the good women at the Leo Center for Caring and Visiting Nurse Hospice for easing her passage from this life.
Friends may call on Monday August 12, 2013 from 10:00am-12:00pm at St. Stanislaus Church in Bradford, NY.
A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 12:00 pm with Father Pat Connor as celebrant.
Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Bath, NY.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the Leo Center at St. Ann's Foundation, 1500 Portland Ave. Rochester, NY 14621.
