Lucia J. Atanesian Brown, age 95, of Bath, NY, died Monday, July 27, 2015 at the Taylor Health Center of Bath, NY.
She was born in Akron, OH, August 8, 1919 , the daughter of George Z. and Mary Ellen (Hess) Atanesian.
Lucia was retired from the Steuben County Treasurers Office.
She loved to garden and was an avid decorator.
She worked many years for Van Scoter Florist and maintained lovely gardens at her home. She was an avid domino player and active card player with local card clubs.
She was a member of the Charles E. Wescott American Legion Post 173 Auxiliary, the V.F.W. Post 1470 and she was very active and a much loved supporter of the Bath Elks Lodge.
She was predeceased by her husband Charles F. Brown, son Charles F. "Butch" Brown Jr., brother Robert Atanesian; sisters,
Armanette Christie and Doris Foster and long time friend Walt Reilly.
She is survived by her daughter Judith (Bob) Chalmers, daughter-in-law, J. Niki Brown; grandchildren, Mary D. Chalmers Thorn (Jonathan), Robert C. Chalmers (Cris), Jon Michael Chalmers, Chad R. Brown and Rachael N. Brown; great grandchildren, Jared, Jake and Jason Thorn, Megan,
Robert C. Jr., Owen, Addison and Mila Chalmers and Zachary, Nathan and Elizabeth Brown, great great grandchildren Emiliana Lucia and Olivia V. Thorn, sister-in-law, Donna Atanesian close friend Myrtle O'Dell and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to call on Friday July 31, 2015 from 1:00-2:00 pm at Fagan's Funeral Home in Bath. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm at the funeral home and burial will be in Nondaga Cemetery, Bath.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations in her name may be made to the Salvation Army and the Armenian General Benevolent Union at www.agbu.org .
