Marian J. Burd

Marian J. Burd, age 73, of Bath, NY died Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at the Steuben County Health Care Facility.
She was born in Bath, NY May 26, 1939 the daughter of Joseph and Mary Romance Aftuck.
Mrs. Burd was a switchboard operator at Lakeview Memorial Hospital in Bath and also worked several years for Sonyea State Hospital and the Bath VA.
Later in life she had an Adult Care Home and Day Care Center where she dedicated her time in helping others.
She enjoyed playing Bingo and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Earl W. Burd Jr. of Bath; children, Martin Ryan of FL,
Bryan (Colleen) Ryan of Wayne, NY, Victor (Lisa) Ryan of Hornell, NY, Earl W. (Christine) Burd III of IL Susannah (Phillip) Comfort of Avoca, NY and Pamela Adair of OK;sisters Sylvia Dempster of Bath, NY and Janet Elliott of Penn Yan, NY; brothers, Richard (Marge) Aftuck of Bath, NY and Edward (Deanne) Aftuck of Bradford, NY and many grandchildren
Friends may call on Monday October 8, 2012 from 3:00-5:00 pm at Fagan's Funeral Home in Bath.
Funeral services will follow at 5:00 pm at the funeral home with Reverend Brad Benson officiating.
Burial will be in Bath National Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
Memorial donations in Mrs. Burd's name may be made to the St. Thomas Episcopal Church.
