Mark W. Dildine

Apr 1, 1954 — Jul 9, 2026

Mark W. Dildine (72), of Bath, NY died peacefully surrounded by family July 9th, 2026 at Arnot

Health Center, Elmira, NY after a recurring illness.

He was born in Bath, NY (April 1, 1954), and lived there most of his life, loving upstate New

York, especially for it's proximity to family and abundant fishing spots. Mark was a graduate of

Haverling Central School and Medaille College and worked primarily in the construction trades,

and was proud of his finish carpentry skills. He most recently worked for B & B Servisoft Water

Conditioning, who treated him like part of their family.

Born a middle child on April Fool's Day, he had that special glint in his eye that never faded. A

natural entertainer, he loved to make people smile...whether telling a joke or performing his

signature "Blueberry Hill" on keyboard. If you knew him, you know what a fearless and spirited

adventurer he was! Mark overcame many struggles including surviving cancer later in life. He

loved his family and friends and led a life well lived as friend, fisherman, musician, artist, pool

and card shark, animated story-teller, gardener and helper to many. His grandchildren were the

highlights of his life.

He was the son of the late Fay and Eve (Robinson) Dildine, and is survived by his uncle Bill

Robinson; brothers Fay (Virginia) Dildine Jr. and Todd Dildine (Cheryl Dowd); sisters Kim (Pat)

Fagan and Meg (Jeff) Atwood; nieces and nephews Whitney and Abbye Atwood, James

(Christine) Dildine, Kelly and Michael Fagan; adored grandchildren Shane and Ella Woodworth

and their parents Tara and David Woodworth; dear friend Candace Dennis; several cousins and

many lifelong friends.

The family would like to thank the staff, and especially the nurses of the Arnot Health Center for

their excellent and compassionate care.

A celebration of his life is being planned for the fall, to be announced.
