It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Mary(Micki)Allis, who left us on March 8th, 2025, after a courageous battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP), a devastating brain disease. Born on April 29th, 1948, Mary was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, whose unwavering love and support were the bedrock of our family.
Mary was married to Terry Allis, since 1967. Terry was not only the love of her life but also her best friend and most trusted companion. Their relationship was a beautiful blend of shared dreams, laughter, and deep understanding. Together, they faced life’s challenges and celebrated its joys, always supporting one another through thick and thin. From their early days as a young couple to raising their children and welcoming grandchildren, their love was evident in everything they did.M
Mary loved to cook and bake for her family, and always making extras for family and friends. Her love for cooking led her to a long career working at Campbell Central School in the cafeteria retiring in 2004.
Mary also leaves behind her sons, Brady (Helen) Allis of Horseheads NY and Shane (Nicole) Allis of Kohler Wi. Her heart swelled with joy as she became a grandmother to five beautiful grandchildren: Mariah, Megan, Amelia, Charlie, and Henry Allis. Mary cherished her role as a mother and grandmother alike. She never missed any sporting or school events they had.
Born to Charles and Loyola McCormick, Mary was raised in a close-knit family that instilled in her the values of love, kindness, and hard work. She is survived by her siblings: William (Martha) McCormick, Connie (Glen) Cole, Darlynn Spizzeri, Charlene (Gary) Wilson, Babette (Jim) Byington, Kevin (Colette) McCormick, Candice (Jim) Zimar, Kimberly (Howard) Sautter, Todd (Jackie) McCormick, Trisha (Terry) Brown and Greg McCormick, as well as her sister-in-law Barb McCormick and brother-in-law Len McConnell. Family gatherings were always filled with laughter, stories, and the warmth of shared history. Mary’s deep love for her siblings created lifelong bonds that she cherished dearly.
Mary was predeceased by her mother, Loyola McCormick; her father, Charles McCormick; her mother-in-law, June Allis; her father-in-law, Charles Allis; sister Agnes McConnell; sister Denise McCormick; brother Michael McCormick; brother-in-law Ernie Spizzeri; and brother-in-law Ron Allis. Her legacy of love, kindness, and strength will live on in all of us.
While we are heartbroken by her passing, we find comfort in knowing she is at peace and surrounded by loved ones who have gone before her.
In her final act of selflessness, Mary chose to be an organ donor, ensuring that her legacy of love and kindness will continue to help others in need. Her legacy of compassion and strength will live on in all of us.
The family encourages everyone to research and learn what the disease PSP is, as it is rare and often misdiagnosed.
A celebration of Mary Allis's life will be held on at day and time TBD. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to go to Carefirst in her memory.
