Nancy L. Steiniger, age 59, of Bradford, NY died Thursday, February 27, 2014 at the Hart Comfort House of Allegany County in Wellsville, NY.
Nancy was born August 21, 1954 in Sayre, PA.
the daughter of Warren Beam and Margaret Young.
She graduated from Savona High School "Class of 1972".
Nancy married Robert J. Steiniger on December 31, 1972.
She is survived by her husband Robert J. Steiniger of Bradford; sons, William J. Steiniger of Layton, Utah and Steven R. Steiniger of Hampton, VA; grandchildren, Alexzander, Jessika, Brent, Joshua and Quinton; sisters, Peggy Rice of Elmira, NY, Helen McDonald of Victor, NY, Ellie (Ike) Savey of Elmira, NY, Louise (Richard) Kemp of Seymour, TN. and Irene (Ralph) Gilbert of Battlecreek, MI, brother, Howard Beck of Victory, TX and many nieces and nephews
Nancy worked for the County of Steuben as a Correction Officer, 911 Operator, and as a Court Security Officer.
She retired after 25 years, due to her illness, in August 2011.
Nancy will be missed by her many friends.
She always made time to help others in any way she could.
For the past few years she would pre wrap boxes for Christmas with bows attached, and sell them at the county office building in Bath with the proceeds going to The Bradford Food Pantry.
Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, March 6, 2014 from 10:30-12:30 at the St. Stanislaus Church in Bradford.
A Funeral Mass of Christian burial will follow at 1:00 pm at the church with Reverend Pat Connor as celebrant.
It is the family's request, in lieu of flowers a donation in Nancy's name be made to the Bradford Food Pantry c/o Mustard Seed Ministries, PO Box 73, Tyrone, NY 14887-0073 or the Comfort House of Allegany County, 141 East State Street, Wellsville, NY 14895.
