Bath, NY - Norma Bates O'Brien, 91, of Bath, NY passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 surrounded by her family at John F. Keever Solace Center in Asheville, NC.
Mrs. O'Brien was born in Bath, NY to the late Myron Bates and Pearl Hamilton Bates. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Russell O'Brien; a sister, Verena Pearl Katner and nephews, Karl Katner and Alan Katner.
Norma was a member of Mitchellsville Methodist Church in Bath, NY and was involved in the American Legion up until her death.
She is survived by her niece, Mary Sue Katner; great nieces, Brenda Gaddy and Michelle Katner Haney and great nephews, Roy Katner, Glen Katner, and Erik Katner.
Friends may call on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 from 2:00-3:00 pm at Fagan's Funeral Home in Bath.
Funeral services will follow at 3:00 pm at the funeral home.
Burial will be in the
Mitchellesville Cemetery at a later date. Flowers are appreciated or memorial donations in Norma's name may be made to the Charles E. Wescott American Legion Post 173, 14 West William Street, Bath, NY 14810.
