Patricia P. Frederick, 66, of Thurston, NY went to join her Lord on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 with her family at her bedside in Corning Hospital.
She had fought a long and hard 15 month battle with gall bladder cancer.
Pat was born in Pittsburgh, PA on November 30, 1947 to David and Ruth (Von Norman) Patton.
She graduated from Hampton High School, Allison Park, PA.
She received a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics from Houghton College, Houghton, NY in 1969, and her Master's Degree in Education from Elmira College in 1995.
She married the love of her life, Steven R. Frederick on December 27, 1969 in Pittsburgh, PA.
She worked for Blue Cross-Blue Shield of Western NY in Buffalo, the Corning Painted Post School District, Ingersoll-Rand in Painted Post, NY, and later retired from Steuben/Alleghany BOCES in Coopers Plains and Hornell, NY.
She is survived by her best friend and husband, Steven R. Frederick of Thurston, NY, Daughters Susan & Rich Evans of Phoenix, NY and Pamela & Matt Haven of Syracuse, NY, son John & Summer (Gillespie) Frederick of Wake Forest, NC, grandchildren Griffin & Gavin Evans of Phoenix, NY, brother Von & Helen Patton of Mission Hills, CA, Sister Dorothy Lee Bray of Tucson, AZ, sister-in-law Jean & Karl Farrand of Addison, NY, brother-in-law Ken & Ginny Frederick of Boerne, TX and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her mother and father.
She attended the Victory Highway Wesleyan Church in Painted Post, NY. The family would like to thank all the nurses and staff on 2C and 3C at Corning Hospital, as well as Dr. Aref Agheli and his staff at the Corning Cancer Center for their very special care.
Calling hours will be held at the Victory Highway Wesleyan Church in Painted Post, NY from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 31, with a Memorial Service following the calling hours.
The family will provide the flowers.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made in Pat's memory to the Victory Highway Wesleyan Church in Painted Post, NY 14870 or the American Cancer Society, 627 W Church St., Elmira, NY 14905 or the charity of your choice.
