Richard J. Benincasa, Jr.

May 29, 1958 — April 5, 2025

Richard "Rick" John Benincasa Jr. known affectionately to friends and family as Benny, RJ, Ricky, Mr. B., Mr. Richard, The egg man, and strangers alike would call him Jesus due to the scriptures on the t-shirts he wore and would give to whomever asked, right off his back! Born May 29th, 1958 in Bath, NY Rick lived a life that was as impactful as it was inspiring. Rick went home to be with the Lord when he passed away at home in Cameron Mills, N.Y. Saturday April 5th, 2025 - after having complications from a heart defect he was born with and a double bypass surgery in January 2025. His legacy is a testament to the power of Christ our Lord, living with intention, compassion and a steadfast commitment to telling people about Jesus, and investing in the lives of others.

Rick's life was changed tremendously when he became a born again Christian over 25 years ago, when he allowed Jesus into his heart as his Lord and Savior and was committed to the task of spreading the word of God. He was a beacon of encouragement, always ready with a scripture, a song and a helping hand. His laughter was infectious, and his presence was always known as he could light up any dark room. Rick was dedicated to his teachings of the bible, mentoring young troubled children, volunteering at public schools and weekly visits to the infirmary in Bath, to help anyone hear the word of the Lord. The love he had for his friends and family was unwavering. He instilled in them the value of love, resilience and faith. He was a proud father to his daughter Kristina and her husband Tim Calafiore of Painted Post, NY and to his sons Matthew Kirkum-Benincasa of Elmira, NY and Michael (Ally) Snyder and two (grand)daughters Vivienne and Harlow of Queen Creek, AZ. He was a doting grandfather to Timothy S, Abrianna, Gionni, Julian, Stella and Kambrie Calafiore, whose adventures and achievements brought him an immeasurable amount of joy and excitement.

Predeceased by his father Richard “Dick” Benincasa Sr.,and stepmother Janet Benincasa of Chandler, AZ, and mother Marjorie (Bohrman) Marsh of Bath, NY

Rick was known by all for his boundless energy and zest for life with the determination like no other for all things fun including music, fast cars and legos.

A man of faith and fellowship, he was an active and devoted member of the Victory Highway Wesleyan Church where he taught Sunday school in the Children's Ministry. His Spiritual journey was one of constant growth and service, and he touched many lives through his involvement in the church community. Rick's belief in higher purpose fueled his desire to uplift others and fill as many hearts with love and the knowledge of Jesus as possible.

Rick's story is not one of an end but a continuation. The lives he touched and the love he shared are his enduring legacy. He was a man who saw life as a precious gift and encouraged everyone to seize the day with both hands. Rick's journey teaches us that every interaction is an opportunity to leave a positive imprint on the world.
