Richard F. Heeter

Richard F. Heeter, 65, of Addison, NY, passed away on March 23, 2023 at Arnot Ogden Medical Center, Elmira, NY. He was predeceased by his father Robert D. Heeter (1976) and mother Priscilla Heeter (2012). Rick is survived by his two sons, Richard F. (Heeter) Zimar and Chad R. (Heeter) Zimar of Hammondsport; his five sisters, Bonnie Rogers of Arizona, Marlene Babe Finley of Hammondsport, Patricia Swan of Florida, Gloria Pigan (Tom Pigan) of Georgia, Sherry Bailey (Patrick Bailey) of Arizona; and his four brothers, Wendell Heeter (Margaret McCay) of Nevada, Bob Heeter (Bonnie Heeter) of New Mexico, and Larry Heeter of Arizona. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Rick graduated from Prattsburg Central School in 1976, and served in the U.S. Army from 1976-1979 with an honorable discharge. He worked as a mining superintendent for more than 40 years. Rick enjoyed spending time with his friends and family and will be missed.
The family will be holding a celebration of life gathering in Addison, at 4 William St on Tuesday, March 28th from 12-3pm.
A ceremony at the VA National Cemetery in Bath will be held at a date to be determined.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to a local charity of your choice.
