Richard J. Kupferschmid

The family of Richard "Koop" Kupferschmid sadly announces his passing on July 26th, 2025 after a brief hard-fought battle with pancreatic cancer. Like everything in his life, Koop faced his illness bravely. His loving Wife Judy, daughter Melanie, son David, and beloved loyal companion Sadie, lovingly held vigil until the very end.
Koop is survived by his siblings Robert Kupferschmid, and Jane Ciminelli (William), children Steven Kupferschmid, Andrew Kupferschmid (Debra), Melanie Kupferschmid-Clarke, Alicia Kupferschmid (Tyson), Richard Kupferschmid (Tricia), Joseph Newton (Katie), Karianne Newton-Noble, David Newton (Andrea), many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, and last but certainly not least his lifelong friend Tom "Tater" Walsh, who went above and beyond in providing endless love and support.
Koop was a wise, peaceful, extremely intelligent, loving, gentle soul. He made it his mission to make sure those around him knew they were heard and important and would do everything in his power to make them happy. His presence is deeply felt and profoundly missed.
