Richard J. Palmieri, known to kin and comrades as Rich passed away on January 11, 2025 in Corning, NY. He was born in Hoboken, NJ on August 19, 1954, the son of Ugo and Doris Palmieri.
Rich, whose life was as full and profound as the ocean he so cherished, was a steadfast member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary in New Jersey, where he did nobly serve. His soul, akin to a steadfast ship, braved the tempests of life with courage and a smile that could light the darkest of seas. His heart, an anchor for his beloved wife, Alice Palmieri, and twin children, Michael and Marissa Palmieri, held fast through all of life's ebbs and flows.
As the master of his vessel, Rich found solace upon the waters, his spirit ever buoyant amidst the waves. A member of the Seneca Sail & Power Squadron, he navigated the lakes with skill and camaraderie, his friendship as constant as the North Star to those who journeyed by his side.
Rich, with a wit as sharp as a mariner's spyglass, was a beacon of mirth and affection. To recount his virtues, one would speak of a man funny, friendly, and loving, for in every jest, every hearty handshake, every embrace, he shared the fullness of his loving heart.

Family and friends are invited to Fagan's Funeral Home in Bath on Monday, January 20, 2025 for visitation from 2:00-4:00 pm and a memorial service at 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in his name may be made to the American Heart Assoc. or the American Cancer Society.
