Obituary

Robert Lee Johnson, born on September 25, 1940, in Gasaway, West Virginia, passed away peacefully from natural causes on April 1, 2026, at the age of 85. He was a proud veteran who served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps from 1961 to 1963. Robert was a devoted family man, married to Jessie Ares in July 1967, and together they raised two sons.

Known for his strong work ethic, Robert enjoyed a fruitful career as an outside sales representative for AB Dick (Itek Graphics) for thirty years. Outside of work, he found joy in his hobbies, which included volunteering with Boy Scouts, hunting, and restoring antique vehicles. A cultivator of grapes, he developed a passion for winemaking, producing many cherished bottles that he shared with friends and family.

Robert will be remembered for his warmth, dedication, and vibrant spirit. He leaves behind a legacy of love and fond memories for those surviving him including his sister Nancy, his sons Mark (Elizabeth), Gregg (Joy), grandchildren and great-grandchildren and the numerous friends and relatives whose lives he touched. His family takes comfort in knowing that he lived a full and active life, embraced by the things and people he loved most.
