Ruth H. (Tobias) Littell, 93 of Painted Post, NY passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at home.
Ruth was born on April 27, 1923 in Painted Post, NY, the daughter of the late Earl and Charlotte (Stage) Tobias.
Ruth married Gerald A. Littell on October 24, 1942 in the Savona Baptist Church. They were married 64 wonderful years. They were avid campers and after retiring, spent many winters in Florida. Gerry pre deceased her on November 23, 2006.
Ruth was a homemaker who raised seven children.
She also babysat countless others.
Ruth loved reading, crafts, puzzles, cooking for her family and especially spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is pre deceased by her children, Kathleen Littell, Gary Littell Sr., and Peg Littell Moran. She is also pre deceased by her siblings, William Tobias, Edith Dusenberry, Betty Salisbury, and Max Tobias.
Ruth is survived by her children, Penny (Don) Sorge of Bath, Rick Littell of Savona, Gerry (Noelia) Littell Jr. of Deltona, FL, Janice Littell of Savona, and Chris Littell of Painted Post. She is also survived by her brothers, Charles Tobias of Ocean Springs, MS, Edwin (Alice) Tobias of Bath and twelve grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and nine great-great, grandchildren.
Calling hours will be Saturday, August 27th noon to 2pm at
Fagan's Funeral Home, 31 W. Morris St., Bath, NY.
Funeral will follow at 2pm, Pastor Barre Butts officiating. Burial will be in Seamans Cemetery, Savona NY.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Ruth's name to the Savona Free Library, PO Box 475, Savona, NY 14879.
