Sterling L. Hurd

Sterling L. Hurd, age 71, of Bath, NY, died Friday, November 11, 2016 at the Ira Davenport Memorial Hospital.
He was born August 19, 1945 in Hornell, NY, the son of Shurman and Amy (Rich) Hurd. While he was in school he was a member of the FFA.
He retired from Empire Livestock in Bath, NY as the Barn Manager after 35 years of service.
Mr. Hurd volunteered for the Bath Little League from 1989-2006, and also for Steuben County 4H for many years.
He was the Thurston Fire Chief during the flood of 1972.
He is survived by his children, Jay (Julie) Hurd, Josh (Rachel) Hurd and Stacey (Jon) Pace; grandchildren, Emilee, Alexis, Aimee, Madison, Jon and Sylvia; brothers, Harry (Alice) Hurd, Karl (Jeanie) Hurd and Dean Hurd, sister Audrey Burrow and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, sister Midge Hurd, brother-in-law, Ralph Burrow and sister-in-law, Abbey Hurd.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday November 15th from 6:00-8:00 pm and Wednesday the 16th from 12:00-2:00 pm at Fagan's Funeral
Home, 31 West Morris St., Bath, NY. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Almond, NY.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Steuben County 4H, c/o CCE, 3 E. Pulteney Square, Bath, NY 14810
