Susan L. Ferrell

Susan “Sue” L. Ferrell, 62, of Avoca, NY, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2025. Born on October 30, 1962, Sue lived a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure.

Sue was a dedicated bus driver for 30 years with the Avoca Central School District, where she cared deeply for the students she transported and formed lasting friendships along the way.

Outside of work, she had a passion for crafting, riding her motorcycle, and being a social butterfly. Whether it was a sunny ride on her motorcycle, spending time with her family, kayaking, enjoying outdoor adventures, or diving into a creative project, Sue embraced each moment with enthusiasm.

She is survived by her children, Melissa Corradi, Russell Ferrell Jr., Daniel Ferrell, and Elizabeth Ferrell; her seven grandchildren; her beloved spouse, Tom Weichman; and her mother, Edith Somers. She was predeceased by her father, John Wayne Somers, and leaves behind many friends and extended family who will miss her dearly.

Sue was known for her warm heart, supportive spirit, and adventurous soul. She was always ready for the next journey—whether down the road or into the unknown—and never hesitated to share a laugh or a listening ear. Her legacy of kindness, fun, and unconditional love will live on in all who knew her.
