Theodore (Ted) Harrian, age 98 of Bath, NY and formerly of Bradford, NY died July 16. 2025 at the Fred and Harriet Taylor Health Care Facility.
He was born in Chicago, IL on September 10, 1926, the son of Alexander and Josephine (Operchal) Harrian. The family relocated to upstate NY following the 1929 stock market crash when Alexander lost his job. The family went into farming, eventually settling in Bradford on a farm that remains in the Harrian family.
Ted served in the US Navy during WW2, stationed at the Corpus Christi Naval Air Station in Texas, where he worked as an airplane mechanic on Curtiss 5B2C Helldiver Bombers.
He married Anne Zientko of Chicago, IL in 1949 and they settled in Bradford, raising two daughters. Ted served in the Bradford Volunteer Fire Co., on the town board, and as town constable.
He was employed by MJ Ward and Son in Savona and Campbell, starting as a truck driver and then becoming manager. He retired in 1990. He and Anne were parishioners of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Bradford.
Ted loved living in the country, owning a "farmette" for over 20 years, deer hunting, ice fishing, gardening, doing jigsaw puzzles and doing the polka with his wife.
Ted devotedly cared for Anne during the final 8 years of her life, doing so with great love, patience and grace. She passed on August 8, 2021. He is also predeceased by his parents, sister Dorothy Romance and brothers John, Edward, Joseph, Edwin and Bernard.
Ted is survived by daughters Theresa (Michael) Rosno of Bradford and Susan (Jerry) Sleve of Elkridge, MD. Also, grandchildren; Shawn (Tammy) Rosno, Ted (Sara) Rosno, Beth Anne (Jay) Simpson, Christopher (Kate) Rosno, Heather (Matt) Sorge, Jeremy (Nicole) Sleve, Jennifer (Ian) Riddle, and Daniel (Kelly) Sleve, 17 great grandchildren and one great-great grandson. Also, brothers Alex (Marcia) Harrian and Stephen (Patricia) Harrian and sister Virginia Radka.
There will be no calling hours, per request of the deceased. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family with burial in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Bath.
