Obituary

Theodore "Ted" Machuga

Theodore "Ted" Machuga, 87, of Bradford, New York, was born in Bradford on September 4, 1939. He passed away peacefully at home on November 3, 2026.

Ted worked for a time at the Polly-O factory and later as a machinist at Dresser-Rand, where he retired in 2001. After retiring, he continued working on the farm, enjoying fieldwork and helping with the cows in the barn. He had a big heart and was always willing to help others. He enjoyed being outdoors in his free time, especially deer hunting, and always had a joke to share. Ted was a devoted Green Bay Packers fan and enjoyed watching their games. He was often seen wearing either his John Deere hat or his Green Bay Packers hat.

He is survived by his children, Debra (Jeffrey) Greico of Rome, New York; Cheryl Machuga of Painted Post, New York; Theodore (Robyn) Machuga of Savona, New York; and Raymond Machuga of Savona, New York. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Chris (Jessica) Stevens of Bradford, New York; Ben Stevens of Taberg, New York; Joshua and Matthew Greico of Rome, New York; and Brianna Machuga of Savona, New York.

Ted is further survived by his siblings, Frank (Ann) Machuga of Bradford, New York; John (Rita) Machuga of Savona, New York; and William (Kathy) Machuga of Savona, New York.

He was predeceased by his parents, John and Susan Machuga; Rose Machuga, the mother of his children; his brother, George Machuga; and his sisters, Martha Serio and Pauline Cyrczak.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Ted's primary doctor, Dr. Kundlas, for his care; to nurse Marcy and the staff at DaVita Dialysis Center, who cared for Ted from the time he began dialysis; to the staff at Arnot Ogden and Ira Davenport hospitals for their compassionate care; and to Ameratrans for providing transportation to dialysis and hospital appointments. The family is especially grateful to Ted's grandson, Chris, and his wife, Jessica, for their loving care over the past year, which made it possible for Ted to remain at home.

In keeping with Ted's wishes, there will be no services. Burial will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Bath, New York.
