Vera G. Young

Vera G. Walters Young, age 87, of Bath, NY died Sunday, March 15, 2015 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Elmira.
She was born in Wheeling, West Virginia, May 13, 1927, the daughter of James and Flora (Amos) Walters.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Robert H Young of Bath NY, four children, Richard A Sampson(Linda), Deborah Rossolo(Ron), Both of Victor, NY., Pamela Sampson, and Jack Sampson, both of Manchester, NY also step children Stephen Young(Roxanne) of Salisbury, NC., Scott Young(Jane) of Wayland, NY., and Roberta Dillon(Doug) of Canandaigua, NY. As well as sisters Harriet Denham, Helen Black, and Betty Kennedy of Bath NY., and Katheryn Duncan and Lillian Story of Hammondsport, NY. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces & nephews. Vera was predeceased by her parents James M Walters and Flora O Amos Walters as well as brothers James Lee Walters, James A Walters, Thomas J Walters, and Joseph W Walters.
Vera was active in buying and selling antiques and collectables. She ran Vera's Treasure Chest in Washington NC. for many years. She loved playing cards and bargain hunting with her sisters. An avid animal lover she adopted numerous pets over the years and loved them as family. Time spent with her children was always special and she loved family meals and gatherings. Vera and her husband had a special relationship which was obvious to those who knew them.
Family and friends may call on Thursday, March 19th from 12:00-2:00 pm at Fagan's Funeral Home in Bath. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Barre Butts officiating.
Burial will be in Nondaga Cemetery, Bath.
