Virginia Mary Buck
February 11, 1933 — January 3, 2021
Virginia Mary (Olney) Buck, age 87, of Bath, NY passed away Sunday, January 3, 2021 at Steuben Center in Bath.
She was born February 11, 1933 in Rochester, NY, the daughter of the late John and Delores (Cochrane) Olney.
Mrs. Buck was a homemaker who enjoyed country life.
She was an avid letter writer and was known for the flourish of her beautiful penmanship.
An animal lover, she adored her pets.
Mrs. Buck also enjoyed sharing colorful stories about her childhood and family. She will be lovingly remembered for her cooking and baking and always making sure that no one left her table hungry.
She was truly a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
Virginia was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Carl Edwin Buck and two sons, infant Carl Buck Jr. and Larry G. Buck and brother John Olney Jr.. She is survived by her son Daniel Lee Buck of Ithaca, NY, daughter Victoria (William) Germond of Fernandina Beach, FL; three grandchildren, Lucretia Buck and Laura Lee Buck both of Elmira, NY and Desiree Bulkley of Bath, NY; five great grandchildren, Dakota Wakeman, Haven (Austyn) LaBarr, Dawson Lee Shoemaker, Aedan Gill and Lochlann Gill; sister, Lucille Buck formerly of Wallace, NY; sister-in-law, Joan Buck of Bath, NY; cousins, Mary Ann VonBuren, Georgie and Billy Bradt and many special nieces and nephews who fondly referred to her as "Aunt Jedia".
She would be sorely disappointed if we did not also mention her cat, Whiskers.
Family and friends are invited to the visitation at St. Mary's Church in Bath on Friday, January 8, 2021, from 9:00-10:00 am. A Funeral Mass of Christian burial will follow at 10:00 am with Father James Jaeger as celebrant.
Burial and a graveside service will be held at
the convenience of the family at Nondaga Cemetery, Bath.
