Walter Beh 'Beh' Herter

Walter Beh Herter, Jr., age 76, of Prattsburgh, NY died Saturday, December 15, 2012 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center, Elmira, NY.
He was born April 23, 1936 in Cincinnati Ohio the son of Dr. Walter Beh Sr. and Ruth Cameron Herter.
Mr. Herter was a member of the St. James Episcopal Church in Hammondsport, the Elks Club and the Keuka Yacht Club.
He had worked as a Civil Engineer in California and locally for Blades and Mercury Aircraft.
He was an Army Veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Lou (Kuhl) Herter of Prattsburgh, NY with whom he celebrated 54 years of marriage; two sons, Walter Beh (Ann) Herter III of Davidson, NC and John R.(Laurie) Herter of Stuart, FL; four grandchildren, Michael Herter, Lauren Herter, Cameron Herter and Katelyn Herter, sister, Judy Herter (Dr. Ronald) Moore of Honolulu, Hawaii, brother-in-law, John R. Kuhl Jr. of Hammondsport, NY, sister-in-law, Cleo Ellen Kuhl of Prattsburgh, NY and four nephews, J.R. Kuhl III of Florida, Christopher P. Kuhl of L.A., CA, James W. Kuhl of Washington, DC and Matthew Moore of Honolulu, Hawaii.
He was predeceased by his parents and brother Alden Herter
A memorial service will be held on Sunday January 13, 2013 at 2:30 pm at St. James Episcopal Church in Hammondsport, NY with Reverend Sandra Curtis officiating.
Memorial contributions in Mr. Herter's name may be made to the Pulteney Fire Department, Pulteney Library and St. James Episcopal Church.
