Walter N. Yochum, age 85, of Bath, NY died Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Elmira, NY, He was born, December 20, 1933 in Wayland, NY, the son of the late Walter N. Sr. and Margaret (Green) Yochum. Mr. Yochum retired from Dresser Rand after 37 years of service. He was an US Navy Veteran serving from 1952-1956. He was a member of the Charles E. Wescott American Legion Post 173 of Bath, Bath B.P.O.E. 1547 and the Bath Volunteer Ambulance Corps. Mr. Yochum volunteered delivering Meals on Wheels for 13 years. He was predeceased by his wife Helen Darlene Yochum on April 5, 2013.
He is survived by his six children; William (Kathy) Yochum of Bath, NY, Pam (Steve) Gleason of Bath, NY, Randy (JoLyn) Yochum of Seneca Falls, NY, Michael (Sue) Yochum of Painted Post, NY, Rhonda Yochum (Dylan DeWert) of Corning, NY and Kim (Tim) Brooder of Goose Creek, SC, 15 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; sisters, Franny Noragon of Wayland, NY, Arleen Yochum of of Avoca, NY, Katie (Bill) Dilgard of Dansville, NY and Barb (Chuck) Crowley of Wayland, NY.
Family and friends are invited to call at Fagan's Funeral Home in Bath on Sunday, January 13, 2019 from 12:00-2:00 pm and 4:00-6:00 pm with a funeral service and Military Honors to follow at 6:00 pm with Reverend Paul Mattison officiating. Private burial will be in Bath National Cemetery.
