It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of William P. Hawk.
Bill was born July 15, 1938 to James and Margaret Hawk and he left us suddenly on September 29, 2023.
He is survived by his siblings, Robert (Bonnie) Hawk and Marcia Stasch, his son Mark (Sara) Hawk. Although only one child shared his name, others were privileged to call him Dad; Melissa Bishop, Craig (Trish) Collins and Erin Austin. Bill was also survived by his grandson Blake Hawk, he was also called grandpa by Kathryn Bishop, John Bishop, Ethan Wooley, Natalie Wooley, Cameron Collins, Lauren Collins, Gareth Austin and Rylie Austin. Bill is also survived by several nieces and nephews and treasured friend Barb Rice.
Bill loved his life serving his community of Bath, as a lifetime member of the Bath Fire Department, where he was Chief from 1975-77, also as an EMT and treasurer for the Bath Ambulance Corps. Bill was employed at BGE where he retired after 36 years.
Bill's life touched so many fortunate enough to know him, with his positive attitude and can do nature. He was a motor sports enthusiast and classic car collector. He raced and crewed all his life. In his later years, Bill spent time with his son and grandson building and racing drag cars, which gave him so much joy.
When not in the garage, he could be found sailing at Keuka Lake with his brother, or fishing a stream in Pulaski. If you knew him, you know how much he will be missed.
